Launching his dental journey in Oxford in 1975, Dr. Swaney has witnessed and embraced the dynamic evolution of dentistry over nearly half a century. Since the foundation of Oxford Dental in 1983, he has had the privilege of treating multiple generations within families, some of whom have been with him from the very start.

A seasoned professional, Dr. Swaney is affiliated with numerous esteemed dental associations, including the American Dental Association, Mississippi Dental Association, American Academy of Implant Dentistry, and many more. The uniqueness of Oxford Dental, enriched by its patient-focused approach, exceptional team, and committed patrons, holds a special place in his heart.

Community involvement runs deep in Dr. Swaney's veins. He has contributed extensively both abroad, with dental mission trips to Honduras, and locally as a dedicated Rotarian for 35 years and a co-founder of the Oxford Youth Baseball Association. His passion for music shines through as a cherished member of the O U Methodist Church choir for over four decades and performances at the Ford Center at Ole Miss.

On a personal note, Dr. Swaney cherishes the tranquility of nature, be it hunting or fishing. His three children - Walker J., Sara Love, and Mary Linley - fill him with pride. But it's the delightful presence of his seven "GRANDchildren" and the unwavering support of his wife Molissia, his partner for 52 years, that completes his world.

Above all, Dr. Swaney attributes his health, success, and the blessings in his life to divine grace.

Hailing from New Albany, MS, Dr. Marc Mercier brings over 20 years of dental expertise to the community of Oxford, where he proudly resides with his family.

At Oxford Dental, he collaborates closely with Dr. Swaney, Dr. Phillips, Dr. Morrison & Dr. Lensing, forming a dynamic team dedicated to excellence. Their collective vision? Ensuring that every patient leaves with a forever smile.

Dr. Mercier is a respected member of the American Orthodontic Society, the American Dental Association, and the Tri-Lakes Study Club. With specialties in Invisalign treatments and smile makeovers, he offers a vast range of services, from teeth bonding and treating bruxism to managing sleep apnea and plaque buildup. But beyond his technical prowess, what truly fuels Dr. Mercier's passion for dentistry is the enduring relationships he cultivates with patients. Witnessing the transformative power of a confident smile and understanding each patient's unique journey are the highlights of his practice.

Outside the clinic, Dr. Mercier, along with his wife Janine and their four children, is deeply involved in community activities. They believe that the smiles entering Oxford Dental not only speak to the team's dental acumen but also to a vibrant and supportive culture.

Dr. Lauren Phillips is committed to providing high-quality, personalized dental care to patients of all ages. Known for her gentle touch and friendly demeanor, she ensures each visit is comfortable, informative, and tailored to individual needs. Patients appreciate Dr. Phillips’s clear communication, approachable manner, and dedication to creating a stress-free dental experience. She especially enjoys providing Same-Day Crowns, Invisalign treatments, and complete smile makeovers—helping patients feel confident in their smiles with convenience and care.

Originally from Forest, MS, Dr. Phillips attended the University of Mississippi for her undergraduate studies and went on to earn her dental degree from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, TN. While there, she gained hands-on experience with modern dental techniques and held several leadership positions.

Outside the office, Dr. Phillips enjoys playing tennis, practicing Pilates, cheering on Ole Miss, and spending time with her husband, Bridges, and their two children, Palmer and baby Bridges. She is also an active member of Oxford University United Methodist Church.
